What Is Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy?
Psychoanalytic psychotherapies are rooted in the psychoanalysis theory developed by Sigmund Freud. This approach explores the connections between past experiences and the challenges individuals face today. The goal of psychoanalytic psychotherapy is not merely to eliminate symptoms but to help individuals make sense of their inner experiences, enabling them to achieve a more integrated and balanced life. Another key aim of this process is for individuals to develop a unique and authentic sense of self.
